What is a Hero?
A hero is:
Faithful. Faithful with what God has entrusted to him. He did what God wanted him to do with what God gave him. Like a servant given a task by his master, he faithfully carried it on to completion.
Perseverant. He presses on through earthly hardship, trials, temptations, with his eyes firmly set on the goal-Jesus Christ. He may fall, but he gets back up and keeps on going, because he knows he has a purpose to fulfill. He doesn’t quit.
Counter-cultural. The world may laugh at him, mock him, condemn him, but he doesn’t care. He will continue to stand up for what’s right when everyone around him does the opposite. He will continue to bless and not curse, love and not hate, give up of himself, not take all for himself, and care for the despised and rejected when everyone else dismisses them as unwanted. He is great because he is humble, strong because he is weak, a man of noble character because he knows and follows the greatest man of all-Jesus Christ. He may look like a fool by the world’s standards, but he doesn’t care because wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. He’s counter-cultural.

Man-made vs God-made
King Solomon was a rich king. The bible describes his splendor in 1 Kings 10. It says “King Solomon was greater in riches and wisdom than all the other kings of the earth.” In fact he was so rich, “nothing was made of silver, because silver was considered of little value in Solomon’s days.” The [...]
25 Reasons to Thank God on my 25th Birthday
What a great year. I’ve grown a lot. The reason: the Gospel has taken a deeper root in my life. It is transformational. The way I see myself and others is radically different because I’ve understood more of how God sees me.
To paraphrase Tim Keller, “The Gospel does two things. It tells me I’m a lot worse than I think. It tells me I will never be able to clean myself up and save myself. But the second thing it does is tell me I’m a lot more loved than I think. I am God’s ultimate treasure. He sent His son to die on the cross to save me and give me new life. It humbles me more and affirms me more at the very same time.”
Decided to write down 25 reasons to thank God, mainly for my own personal record, but I hope that you might be encouraged to be thankful and want to get to know Jesus better. Starting with people first since people matter most! (warning: long)
Perfectionism vs. Pursuing Excellence
Perfectionism is a very common issue in Asian American culture.
Something perfect is complete in all respects, faultless, without defect…
So a perfectionist is someone that demands perfection and rejects anything less
A perfectionist is product-minded, a person of excellence is process-minded
A perfectionist values self by what they do, a person of excellence, for who they are
Perfectionism has [...]

Dream Big
Jesus said, “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17:20).
A little faith goes a long way. What about more than just a little faith? What if we trusted God for big things, huge things? What would happen?
2 Verses, 2 Songs
I’m packing up to go to New York City tomorrow morning for Tribeca Summer Project (http://gosummerproject.com/showproject.php?id=580), and two verses keep coming back to me.
No More Zoo
I went to ZooAmerica at Hershey Park last weekend and decided that I probably won’t be going to the zoo anymore. Why? Because of this:
Growing Older
No, this is not some kind of lamentable post about aging or regrets about the past year etc. In fact, it’s completely the opposite. I titled it growing older instead of getting older, because getting older implies that I am just sitting here doing nothing, while age inevitably and sadly comes upon me. No, I hope I never fall into that mindset of idleness and retirement.
Growing older implies something active. It’s purposeful. It’s exciting and it’s an adventure. Two thoughts about this:
Stress Relief
Stress is a very common problem in today’s society. With everything piling up it seems like there is just never enough time. I have thought about this phenomenon since I’ve observed plenty of it around me at work and also experienced it for myself as well. One thought keeps coming back to me: when does [...]
